All Around Tote Bag

Please complete the following prior to the first class.

  1.     Buy All Around Tote pattern.  Buy materials listed on pattern except fray check, glue and double stick tape, unless you would like to have these on hand.   I will have these three products to share. The Purple Thang is a very useful tool when working with bulky items if you’d like to bring/buy one.  Silver Thimble offers a 15% discount on all class purchases.

  1.    Follow the instructions for cutting on Page 1.  Continue to Page 2 completing Step 1-Fusing.  Stop after fusing your batting and interfacing as the pattern instructs. We will begin with Step 2 in class.

  1.    In addition to the tools listed on the pattern, please bring to the first class a walking foot for your machine.

Call, text or email me with questions.  If you need coaching with pattern instructions prior to the first class, I am happy to help!

Homework for the week

Please complete these relatively easy steps at home.

  •          Step 8 – Adding the Flap

  •          Step 10 – Making the Center Divider

Yes, this is out of order.  After constructing the divider, consider adding a decorative top-stitch down the center and 4” on either side of center for stability.  You could use other decorative stitches or try a crosshatch pattern instead of straight lines.  Be creative.  Or leave the divider as directed in pattern.

2nd Class

  •          Step 9 – Adding the Inside Zipper Pockets

  •          Step 10 – Making the Center Divider (If you didn’t complete it as homework.)

  •          Step 11 – Cutting the Corners
