4 yards light tone on tone background fabric or 8 - 1/2 yard cuts of different fabrics
1 yard Inner borders (black fabric on picture)
6 - 8 different print fabrics for flying geese. You can use 10 x 10 squares, FQ or 1/4 yard cuts
1/3 yd medium value tone on tone fabric for center square
2 yards outer border , we are cutting it lengthwise
7 yards Shape Flex This is a woven fusible interfacing - you don't have to purchase this all at once.
1/2 yard binding fabric
1 Roll tear away stabilizer ? medium to light weight
Wash away marker
40 weight embroidery thread. - You will need 2 spools for the main embroidery color and 1 spool for shading and 1 shade a bit darker for other shading
Bobbin thread in white or black or color to match top color thread (60 weight)
50 wt cotton thread for piecing
Basic sewing and quilting supplies. Bring sewing and embroidery feet
80/12 embroidery needles
Spray Starch
Double stick basting tape
Flying Geese Ruler
20 inch ruler (if you own) -
Minimum hoop size is 6 x 12. I used the 200 x 360 hoop. Make sure you bring all your larger hoops.

Before Class please have done:
Print out the instructions per your hoop size from the CD - We will use the 360 x 200 hoop in class OR 260 x 360 for Epic
Press and starch your fabric. Apply starch 2 times
Pre shrink the Shape Flex (woven fusible interfacing). I put in tub of hot water and let the water cool. Then I place glue side up over my shower rod to let dry. Once dry, I steam it with my iron but DO NOT LET IRON TOUCH THE interfacing.
From page 3 is the cutting instructions. Cut the background fabric and the
Shape Flex. Press interfacing to fabrics. Center the fabric on the fusible interfacing. Do not trim. We need the excess around the fabric for hooping.
